I’m building an elite team of engineers focused on redefining how we test and qualify our large fulfillment operations. Your mission will be to define the standard for what success looks like, and to verify that our systems are installed and commissioned to that high bar.

Key job responsibilities
  • Develop technical testing methods for mission‑critical features.
  • Inspect the results of testing continuously refines and improves the testing methodologies—defining what “good” looks like.
  • Establish and oversee quality metrics and improvement initiatives that scale across our network.
  • Drive engineering excellence for complete system implementations.
  • Foster collaboration between engineers, vendors, customers, and business stakeholders.
  • Champion data‑driven decision making and continuous improvement.
A day in the life
  • 30% domestic travel.
  • PLC programming (Ladder Logic/Structured Text).
  • Ability to code in SQL, Python or C/C++.
  • Innovative design and implementation ideas for our material handling equipment and conveyor systems.
  • Complex system testing, commissioning, verification, and validation.
  • Responsible for identifying risk and developing test strategies to mitigate that risk.
  • Designing and implementing systems within large‑scale industrial or logistics facilities, preferably large fulfillment centers.
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability and scaling).
  • Experience writing technical documents, project plans and progress reports to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial) or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience in complex system testing, commissioning, verification, and validation.
  • Experience designing and implementing systems within large‑scale industrial or logistics facilities.
  • Experience with Operational Technology interfacing patterns.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of systems design, software development, operations, automation, and process improvement experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
  • Experience in creating and implementing standards with respect to testing and commissioning large scale highly automated complex warehousing systems.
  • Familiarity with Amazon’s warehouse operations and automation technologies (preferred).
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Robotics, or related technical field.
  • Experience managing geographically distributed teams.
  • Experience developing and executing multi‑year technology roadmaps.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and build consensus across organizations.
  • Expert in identifying risk and developing test strategies to mitigate that risk.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
