Reports to: Glidance Chief Technology Officer
Location: Seattle, WA
Position Overview
As the Robotics Technician at Glidance, you will play a hands-on role in assembling, testing, and supporting the development of our intelligent personal mobility devices. Working closely with our engineering and product teams, you will ensure that prototypes, test rigs, and field-ready units are built to spec and ready to deliver breakthrough user experiences. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on precision, iteration, and getting their hands dirty in the service of something truly transformative.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and test robotic hardware components for prototypes and production builds.
- Maintain lab infrastructure including tools, equipment, and parts inventory.
- Support hardware debugging and documentation for electro‑mechanical systems.
- Assist engineers with experiments, testing protocols, and data collection.
- Build and maintain test rigs for durability, performance, and user simulation tests.
- Ensure timely repair, calibration, and upkeep of lab equipment and test units.
- Contribute to process documentation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent practical experience in Electronics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience in a robotics, hardware, or electronics lab.
- Proficiency with hand tools, soldering, wiring, and basic machining techniques.
- Familiarity with interpreting schematics, mechanical drawings, and wiring diagrams.
- Comfort using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
- Highly detail‑oriented with a knack for troubleshooting and iterative testing.
- Collaborative mindset with strong communication and documentation skills.
