Overview

Shimmick is seeking a highly talented Project Sponsor based in the Seattle, WA area. This challenging position will focus on all aspects of the project lifecycle while maintaining positive client relationships and building impactful teams.

Shimmick takes on challenging projects and performs high-quality work ranging from expanding/constructing water and wastewater treatment plants to construction of the new Gerald Desmond Bridge.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Directs and manages junior project managers, either within the organization structure of a large capital project or multiple smaller projects.

  • Fosters client relationships and resolves issues escalated by junior project managers.

  • Guides project teams through the collaborative delivery process.

  • Manages project lifecycle from procurement through preconstruction, construction, and close out.

  • Coordinates corporate resources to the benefit of project success.

  • Recruits, trains, and develops junior staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field + 10 years of relevant project delivery experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Must have GC/CM project delivery experience or a similar collaborative model.

  • Experience executing heavy civil construction projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Concrete structures, MSE Walls, Rail, Transit, Wastewater project experience.

  • Experience working with clients in the greater Seattle, WA area.

  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and consistent attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage changing deadlines and work well under pressure for multiple team leaders.

  • Work independently and effectively to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills.

  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skill.

Additional Information:

  • Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.

The salary range for this position is between $210,000 - $250,000 per year depending on experience and/or education.
