Job Description & How to Apply Below
This role sits at the intersection of chemistry, detection engineering, and fleet-scale operations. The successful candidate will be someone who has operated critical fluid infrastructure at scale, understands corrosion and fluid degradation as engineering problems, and has the organizational range to resolve ambiguous ownership boundaries with adjacent teams while keeping their own team focused and productive.
Key job responsibilities
** Fluid Health and Chemistry.
** Own coolant specification, qualification, and continuous fleet-wide monitoring. Lead material compatibility validation and make the formal recommendation on fluid chemistry. Monitor deployed fluid for corrosion, microbial growth, and chemical breakdown.
** Leak Detection and Operations.
** Own the detection architecture end to end, from sensors through automated shutdown. Drive root cause forensics and feed findings back to hardware teams. Partner with datacetner team all physical fluid operations including commissioning, cleanliness standards, and the fluid-to-facility interface.
** System Performance and Analytics.
** Correlate fluid health data with thermal performance, flow dynamics, and fleet-wide trends. Own digital twin models that predict replacement windows and inform design decisions.

- Track record of standing up new organizations or capabilities from scratch, including hiring, authoring foundational specifications, and establishing operational standards
- Strong operational discipline with a bias toward measurement and data-driven decision-making
- Background in industries where fluid integrity is mission-critical — oil and gas, semiconductor fabrication, pharmaceutical fluid systems, or automotive
Preferred qualification - Advanced degree in chemical engineering, materials science, mechanical engineering, fluid mechanics, or a related field- 10+ years of engineering experience in fluid systems, corrosion management, thermal management, or a closely related discipline- 5+ years of experience managing managers
- Proven ability to hire and develop talent from non-traditional engineering backgrounds
- Direct experience with leak detection systems, corrosion monitoring programs, or controlled-environment operations (clean rooms, contained fluid systems)- Familiarity with large-scale infrastructure environments (not required — candidates from outside data center backgrounds are encouraged to apply)
