The Senior Manager will lead the Fiduciary/Trust & Estate Accounting Services (FTEAS) team, shaping strategy, managing client relationships, and driving business growth.
- Provide technical review of complex trust and estate accountings.
- Manage teams to ensure accurate, timely delivery of work products.
- Maintain and expand client relationships.
- Engage in business development: weekly sales calls, client presentations, and marketing efforts.
- Deliver timely, effective client support, enhancing long‑term relationships.
- Prepare estimates and documentation for new engagements, ensuring alignment with EY’s processes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal EY groups.
- Develop operational efficiencies for high‑quality services.
- Support staff development through training and mentorship.
- Complete required training courses and maintain fiduciary accounting knowledge.
- Monitor engagement profitability, staff efficiency, and workload assignments.
- Ensure projects are billed accurately and follow up on collections.
- Interpret trust documents, IRS Forms 706, 1041, K‑1s, and comply with state/local filing requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- CPA, EA, licensed attorney, professional fiduciary or CTFA certification.
- 10+ years in fiduciary/court accounting at a bank, law firm or CPA firm, with proven management of staff and engagements.
- Strong technical fiduciary accounting expertise.
- Experience reviewing complex accountings and IRS forms.
- Understanding of complex investments, tax concepts, trust structures, and estate planning documents.
- Ability to research state‑specific principal and income acts.
- Leadership, client interaction, business development, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with fiduciary accounting software (FAS), Microsoft Word, Excel, and other relevant tools.
- Thorough knowledge of fiduciary tax law required for preparations.
- Experience with complex assets, large trusts and estates.
- Experience working with family offices.
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
We provide a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including medical, dental, pension, 401(k), and a wide range of paid time off. Base salary ranges from $127,900 to $291,900 nationwide and higher in major metros. We operate a hybrid model with client serving roles working onsite 40‑60% of the time.
