Verity is hiring for a Mortgage Loan Officer at our Seattle, WA Headquarters location. This is an in-branch position based in Seattle, WA. The Mortgage Loan Officer is responsible for driving mortgage loan growth through external sales activity, fostering referral relationships, and guiding members through the home lending process. This role requires strong knowledge of conventional and non‑conforming mortgage products, regulatory standards, and community engagement practices. The Mortgage Loan Officer works independently to ensure a seamless lending experience from application through closing, serving as a trusted advisor and advocate for borrowers.

  • Base Pay: hourly range min $20.76 to max $31.25 + commission monthly. Starting pay is offered based upon an applicant’s experience and education relevant to the position.

    All Verity employees receive 11 paid holidays per year and 3 floating holidays, as well as paid time off (PTO is combined vacation and sick leave.) PTO starts accruing immediately at a rate of 20 days per year.

Essential Job Functions Outside Sales & Business Development
  • Generate mortgage loan applications through external sales and community engagement.
  • Conduct outreach with prospective borrowers and local housing market stakeholders.
  • Attend real estate and financial services events to represent Verity Credit Union.
  • Maintain a pipeline of leads and follow up consistently to convert to applications.
Loan Origination & Member Support
  • Interview and prequalify members applying for mortgage loans.
  • Complete applications and gather documentation according to investor requirements.
  • Communicate loan status, decisions, and next steps to borrowers.
  • Explain denials and provide alternative loan solutions when applicable.
Referral Partner Collaboration
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with realtors, builders, and mortgage brokers.
  • Act as a liaison between partners and borrowers to facilitate successful transactions.
  • Deliver consistent follow-up and education to maintain strong referral pipelines.
Product Consultation
  • Educate members and partners on loan options including conventional, FHA, VA, and non‑conforming products.
  • Review financial documents to recommend appropriate loan products.
  • Advise on pricing, rates, and qualification requirements.
Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure applications and files comply with internal policies and investor guidelines.
  • Stay informed about changes to mortgage regulations and market trends.
  • Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and legal compliance.
  • Coordinate with operations to ensure timely loan processing and closing.
Other Duties
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Complete required reports and administrative tasks as needed.
