Indirect Tax Manager - US; Seattle

Byte Dance seeks an Indirect Tax Manager to join our Tax Department and support our international digital and e-commerce expansion efforts. The Indirect Tax Manager will manage daily tax operations, including indirect tax compliance, legislative onboarding, and supporting new product launches. Additionally, this role will involve assisting with tax audits, supporting tax controversies, and contributing to various projects as needed to meet the requirements of business partners and the department.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Taxation, Accounting or any other related field.
• 5 years of indirect state and tax experience in a public accounting firm, Government, and/or U.S. multinational company with a focus in sales/use taxes.
• Have strong technical knowledge in U.S. Indirect Tax, especially in Sales and Use Tax.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant industry experience in handling U.S. Indirect Tax in technology and e‑commerce companies is a plus.
• Ability to communicate complex tax concepts in ways that are meaningful and useful to non‑tax professionals.
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced environment, adapt quickly, collaborates effectively, and can work independently and solve problems while motivating and influencing others.
• Work with other Tax and Technology teams across regions to identify, create, and implement globally scalable processes and solutions.
