Salary: $3,477.00 – $4,632.00 Monthly. In addition to the advertised salary range, the incumbent will receive an additional 5% King County duty station pay.

South Puget Sound (SPS) Region Finance is looking for a Fire Fiscal Analyst to join our team. Our team of six professional‑level fiscal analysts encourages growth, embraces challenges, and does things the right way while working hard and having fun.

They will be someone who can adapt to changes with internal policy & procedures, cooperative agreements, funding sources, legislative requirements, State & Federal rules/laws, and working in a seasonal environment.
This position reports to the Region Fire Cost Analysts and is one of five fiscal analysts on the team. Work is assigned both in writing and verbally, and depending on the assignment, may be given direction by the Region Finance Manager or the Assistant Region Manager of Region Operations. The Fire Fiscal Analyst works closely with the SPS Wildland Fire Program and Fire Finance staff across the agency.
South Puget Sound Region Finance works out of the Region Headquarters located in Enumclaw, WA. Our region spans King, Pierce, Kitsap, Mason, Thurston, and parts of Snohomish, Lewis, and Grays Harbor counties. We support 250 permanent & seasonal positions. Region Operations provides IT Support, Facilities Services & Maintenance, Fleet, Purchasing, Administration, Fire Business & Finance.
- Primary fiscal support for the South Puget Sound Fire Program for Payroll, Benefits, Reimbursements, Travel & Credit Cards.
- Provide Fire Finance Training to seasonal and permanent staff, fire service cooperators, and casual hires.
- Responsible for maintaining records for large fires within the South Puget Sound Region according to State and Agency policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Assist the Region Fire Cost Analyst in preparing monthly fire suppression reporting of actual & estimated costs to be included in the Agency’s Fire Cost Reporting requirements for the State Legislature.
- Provide support to our cooperative partners at the region, state & federal levels according to the Interagency Agreement, Local Operating Plan, Master Agreement, Wage & Equipment Rates, and OFM Travel rules & regulations.
- One year of fiscal technical experience.
- Experience in setting priorities to meet work deadlines and produce results.
- Experience with Payroll and Accounts Payable.
- Experience using Adobe Pro, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel in a professional setting.
- Experience using software such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Teams, SharePoint, One Drive, etc.
- Experience in extracting/generating reports from multiple financial reporting systems in multiple formats (Excel, CSV, PDF), preparing financial reports & statements.
- Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies, laws, and practices – GAAP.
