Job Description & How to Apply Below

Who We Are

Tasso is a fast-growing Seattle-based startup focused on delivering at-home diagnostic testing to those who need it most. We are growing our footprint with leading health systems, clinical research organizations, academic medical centers, and more who are looking to deliver clinical-grade, convenient diagnostic tests to their patients. Tasso was originally founded to find a better way to collect blood instead of a painful fingerstick or time‑consuming venous draw.

Since then, our products have been used in pharmaceutical clinical trials, by Olympians as part of a new virtual anti‑doping program, and broadly by hospital systems across the US.

As a Senior Accountant at Tasso, you’ll take ownership of key financial processes and play an important role in building a scalable accounting infrastructure to support our continued growth. This position goes beyond transactional work—it's an opportunity for someone to apply their expertise and judgement in a dynamic environment and help shape our accounting operations as we grow. As the in‑house expert on Ava Tax and Paylocity, you’ll lead process improvements and ensure compliance with evolving regulations.

You’ll collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, apply technical expertise, and help ensure financial integrity across the organization. Your contributions will have a direct impact on decision‑making, compliance, and the overall success of our mission to transform healthcare.

What You Will Do Revenue, Invoicing and Collections
  • Lead the end-to-end customer invoicing process in Quick Books, ensuring alignment with contract terms, revenue recognition principles, and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with Sales, Customer Success, and Operations to optimize billing workflows and proactively resolve discrepancies that impact revenue.
  • Exercise judgement on approving and managing credit terms.
  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert for Order to Cash in a future ERP implementation.

  • Record and reconcile payroll journal entries and benefits-related expenses.
  • Support year-end payroll processes, including W-2s, 1095-Cs, 1099s and related filings.
  • Assist with the preparation and documentation required for the company’s annual 401(k) audit, working closely with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
Tax Compliance
  • Manage multi-state sales and use tax filings through Avalara Ava Tax and government portals, staying current with jurisdictional changes.
  • Prepare and file state-level Business & Occupation (B&O) taxes, ensuring compliance with jurisdiction‑specific rules (e.g., Washington State).
  • Assist in preparing tax documentation for audits and external CPA review.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, and finance teams to identify eligible R&D projects and costs.
General Accounting & Reporting
  • Contribute to monthly and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare reports for management, board meetings, and investor relations as needed.
  • Support audit readiness and documentation for regulatory or grant reporting requirements.
  • Identify and implement improvements to accounting workflows, leveraging systems and automation to scale with company growth.
  • Other duties as assigned.
