Plant Controller

The Plant Controller is a senior finance leader responsible for overseeing all financial activities across one or more manufacturing sites. This role partners closely with plant leadership to drive operational performance, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing finance experience, deep cost accounting expertise, and proven success supporting multiple sites in a fast‑paced environment.

• Serve as the primary finance business partner to Plant Managers and Operations Leadership
• Provide financial insight to support production efficiency, capacity utilization, capital investments, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Develop a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, labor models, and operational KPIs
• Drive accountability for operational performance through financial transparency and analysis

• Own standard cost systems, including material, labor, and overhead rates
• Analyze manufacturing variances (PPV, labor efficiency, overhead absorption, scrap, yield, etc.) and partner with operations on corrective actions
• Lead annual standard cost updates and support BOM and routing accuracy
• Ensure inventory valuation accuracy and compliance with accounting policies
• Lead site‑level budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning processes
• Develop and analyze financial models to support strategic initiatives and operational decisions
• Prepare and present monthly performance reviews, highlighting risks, opportunities, and action plans
• Support capital expenditure planning, ROI analysis, and post‑investment reviews

• Own the month‑end close process for assigned plants, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with GAAP
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and management reporting packages
• Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with SOX or internal audit requirements
• Coordinate with Corporate Finance to support consolidated reporting and audits
• Oversee financial activities across multiple manufacturing locations
• Drive consistency in financial processes, controls, and reporting across sites
• Support plant start‑ups, expansions, or integrations as needed
• Balance strategic oversight with hands‑on execution across locations

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA or CPA/CMA preferred)
• 7+ years of progressive finance experience within a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated multi‑site manufacturing finance experience
• Strong background in cost accounting and manufacturing operations
• Proven FP&A experience, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Hands‑on experience owning the month‑end close process
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, etc.)
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence plant and senior leadership
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
