About the Role

As the Asset Management Program Manager (Project/Program Manager III) in the River and Floodplain Management Section (RFMS), you will work with the Maintenance Team to develop and maintain an asset management system for levees, revetments and flood buyout properties across King County. You will collaborate with partners in the Water and Land Resources Division, the Parks and Recreation Division, and the Road Services Division, participate in the flood patrol program during the annual flood season, and supporting department training.

You Will Be Doing
  • Collaborate with county agencies and internal/external partners to develop site‑management plans and an inventory system for levees, revetments and undeveloped properties, implementing an asset‑management system and leading all phases of capital‑project planning and management.
  • Build relationships through effective communication and outreach, leading stakeholder, public and tribal outreach planning and activities; conduct citizen and land‑owner contact to facilitate project implementation.
  • Develop and oversee consultant contracts to support capital and programmatic projects related to RFMS actions.
  • Review and synthesize data, reports and technical documents and present summary information to technical staff, elected officials, management and the public.
Qualifications You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, natural‑resource management, urban/regional planning, public administration, communications or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that demonstrates ability to perform the essential functions of the role.
  • Experience working in complex, multi‑party project management and natural‑resource planning with knowledge of interjurisdictional governance and public planning processes.
  • Demonstrated experience with natural asset or property management.
  • Experience collaborating with a wide variety of public agencies to resolve problems.
  • Working experience with an asset‑management system.
Required Licenses
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license or ability to obtain one prior to starting work.

Working Conditions
  • Remote and Onsite Work Details
    :
    Hybrid model; intermittent office and fête; primary onsite location at King Street Center, 201 S. Jackson St, Seattle, WA 98104; other locations at project sites.

  • Work Schedule:
    Full‑time 40‑hour week; typical 8 a.m.‑5 p.m. Monday–Friday; additional hours, evenings and weekends possible; participation partij in flood warning and emergency response activities.

  • Physical Requirement
    :
    Occasional physical site inspections; walking on uneven terrain; exposure to inclement weather, boats or kayaks; ability to work outdoors during flood events.
