Clinical Laboratory Technician 1, Genetics & Solid Tumors Lab

Pay Range
$54,828.00 – $78,420.00 annual
- Performs sample acquisition procedures and documents all requests in the associated database.
- Receives and processes specimens from internal and external pathology departments, including accessioning, unbatching, and matching against requisitions.
- Coordinates with UW departments to receive and send specimens and provides backup for Clinical Laboratory Assistant duties when required.
- Provides customer service and builds collaborative relationships with referral labs, answering calls and promoting teamwork across Genetics Division and Specimen Processing Services.
- Contributes to process improvements and quality control, including training new staff, auditing paperwork, maintaining databases, and resolving routine problems.
- Performs other related responsibilities as required.
- High school graduation or equivalent AND one year of chemical, clinical, or public health laboratory experience.
- Or completion of a laboratory assistant course approved by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in science preferred.
- Experience in a major medical hospital laboratory, Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), and pathology LIS (Epic) and CARs databases.
- Experience with Macintosh and Windows personal computers.
- $3,000 recruitment incentive for eligible new employees.
