The Exercise Physiologist is responsible for developing and enhancing comprehensive cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation programs that meet AACVPR, AHA, and ACSM standards. Clinical duties include initial patient assessment and evaluation, instruction on exercise therapy, monitoring of exercise sessions, formulation and consultation of exercise prescriptions, education on exercise and risk factor modification (both group and individual), and documentation and communication with referring physicians regarding patient progress.
Administrative duties include working with and supervising student interns, and serving as a resource for the multidisciplinary team on exercise prescription and risk factor modification.
- Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Cardiac Rehabilitation, or a related field
- National Provider BLS certification (American Heart Association) upon hire
- Work experience interpreting GXT studies, formulating and updating personalized exercise prescriptions, and modifying risk factors and behaviors
- Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, Cardiac Rehabilitation, or a related field
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience for candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience managing an individual caseload in cardiovascular risk reduction and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation for candidates with a Master’s Degree
