Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM

What You’ll Do

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will provide both clinical and administrative support in a professional outpatient healthcare setting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Interview patients and obtain and document vital signs, including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient health records.

  • Prepare examination and treatment rooms for patient care.

  • Clean and sterilize medical instruments and equipment according to established procedures.

  • Administer medications, including injections, within scope of practice and applicable state regulations.

  • Perform approved laboratory testing and specimen collection.

  • Operate EKGs and other diagnostic equipment as permitted by state regulations.

  • Assist providers with clinical procedures and patient care as needed.

  • Provide front-desk and administrative support, including scheduling appointments and assisting with patient flow.

  • Make patient follow-up calls as directed.

  • Monitor inventory and order medical and clinical supplies.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring
  • Minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience required.

  • National certification in Medical Assisting from a Premise Health-approved organization OR a Certificate/Diploma and transcripts from an accredited Medical Assistant program that includes a successfully completed hands-on externship.

  • Fully online Medical Assistant programs without a hands-on externship are not accepted.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with hands-on training through the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or an equivalent healthcare-provider program is required.

  • Strong clinical skills, including vital signs, injections, laboratory procedures, and EKGs.

  • Strong communication, organization, and patient-service skills.

  • Ability to support both clinical and administrative functions in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
