Power Engineer, Rack Power

Overview

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain.

• Debug and validate power systems, including battery management systems, power supplies, AC/DC, DC/AC converters, automatic transfer switches, and BMC controllers.
• Own the product’s end‑to‑end development cycle and work side by side with hardware, firmware and software development teams on troubleshooting challenging technical issues.
• Design automation via test scripts and applications, write test reports, perform board level testing and functional verification of power subsystems.
• Support hardware/software integration testing, firmware regression and propose design improvements based on test results.
• Act as a hardware design subject matter expert on new product development efforts and help define the architecture of future AWS technologies.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or experience low power design techniques.
• Experience with lab‑based user testing, remote testing, iterative prototype testing, survey design, and usage of multiple methods within a study.
• Experience with large‑scale power systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic understanding of different power electronics circuit topologies.
• Product validation and issue root cause experience, including gathering requirements and developing specifications.

Base pay ranges from $125,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $219,900/year in our highest geographic market. Equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
