Job DescriptionAbout the Role Agivant is seeking a Voice & Networking Engineer (Seattle/Remote-US) to support voice calling and outbound communication infrastructure
.
Mandatory experience:
- CUCM, Asterisk, and Voice Networking
- IPv4/IPv6 and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
This role is ideal for candidates passionate about VoIP, SIP, and Network Automation.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and maintain SIP-based telephony systems (Asterisk, CUCM, Cisco Voice Gateways).
- Troubleshoot call routing, trunking, and carrier interconnect issues.
- Maintain and optimize voice gateways (CUBE and non-CUBE),
IVRs
, and ACDs
. - Collaborate with carriers and ensure compliance with PSTN and regional telecom regulations
. - Support networking for telephony
, including routing, IPv6, and ACL-based security. - Automate monitoring and maintenance tasks using Bash and Python scripts.
- Document configurations, workflows, and infrastructure changes.
What We’re Looking For
Voice / Telephony
- Solid understanding of SIP protocol and VoIP call flow.
- Experience with Asterisk (open‑source IP/PBX) and Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM).
- Knowledge of CVOICE concepts and maintaining Cisco IOS‑based voice gateways (analog, ISDN, SIP).
- Experience troubleshooting with carriers and understanding IVR/ACD systems
. - Familiarity with regional PSTN regulations
. - Nice to Have:
Cisco VCS experience and understanding of WebRTC clients.
Networking
- Strong grasp of route/switch fundamentals as they apply to telephony.
- Working knowledge of IPv6 (dual‑stack and single‑stack voice).
- Experience with Cisco IOS
, ACLs
, and network security
. - Comfortable managing CentOS / RHEL environments.
- Bonus: security‑minded approach to network operations.
- Proficiency in bash/shell scripting
. - Ability to write and run SQL queries
. - Bonus: familiarity with Chef/Puppet and AWS EC2/RDS
