Position: Senior Cloud Engineer / Specialist (OASE)

Job Description

The Oracle Analytics Service Excellence (OASE) team within Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC) is looking for Cloud engineers who can help support our government customer services. This role partners with development teams to build, operate, support, and improve uptime of the services (Oracle Analytics Cloud Services) 24/7.

OASE is responsible for developing tools, technologies, and processes, and driving change through data‑driven decisions. You will work alongside software development teams to ensure service and feature parity for government customers, build cloud‑based technologies, automate processes, develop code and services, operate, and report on internal applications that support business growth, partner education, and compliance across Oracle Analytics.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Dev Ops activities to support customers, engineers, and processes through release cycles and production.
  • Respond to incidents, troubleshoot issues, and drive to completion, including root cause analysis.
  • Perform change management activities to keep the environment on the latest versions and configurations.
  • Provide full stack support to Oracle Analytics Cloud.
  • Become expert in analytic services to prevent, resolve customer issues effectively, and prevent regressions.
  • Document processes & runbooks; update existing processes.
  • Execute interim patches and hot‑fixes as required.
  • Work with various teams to resolve service failures/outages.
  • Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve CI/CD tools used by the team.
  • Follow all best practices and procedures established by the company.
  • Mentor and train other engineers and continually improve processes.
  • Participate in 24/7 Dev Ops model with on‑call rotations for daytime, nighttime, and weekends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Candidate Attributes
  • U.S. Government security clearance Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Experience providing cloud networking, infrastructure, and service support, configuration, operations, tools, and processes.
  • Understanding of networking, TCP/IP fundamentals, and services such as DNS, HTTP, etc.
  • Linux/Unix system administration, including system‑level knowledge of Linux on OCI Gen 2 and scripting.
  • Experience developing & operating cloud services or large distributed applications in production.
  • Methodical approach to troubleshooting and solving complex technical problems, reverse engineering existing applications.
  • Producing documentation in support of developed work (KBs, runbooks, help guides).
  • Utilizing agile methodologies.
  • Effective communication in a team environment.
  • Working with remote and global teams.
  • Working independently and in a self‑directed manner.
  • Sufficient flexibility to work extended weekday and weekend shifts for on‑call, after‑hours upgrades, and other duties.
Ideal Candidate
  • U.S. Government security clearance Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph.
  • Experience supporting multiple cloud services, troubleshooting customer requirements, and reporting root cause for product fixes.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Analytics server, BI Publisher, Oracle Analytics Cloud, Oracle database, Oracle Autonomous DB, MySQL; experience with MS SQL and/or No

    SQL is a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience running large‑scale customer‑facing web applications.
  • OCI or AWS, Azure, GCP compute, storage, and network operational experience.
  • Programming and scripting (Python, Ansible, bash, JavaScript; additional PHP, Groovy, Java, Go a plus).
  • Experience with CI/CD scripting tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Experience in cloud‑native application development using containers and orchestration (Kubernetes) for independently scalable micro‑services.
  • Issue tracking and collaboration with Jira and Confluence.

Compensation & Benefits

US:
