We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically proficient Systems Engineer - COR to join our Configuration, Operations, and Release team. This role is focused on the development, deployment, and ongoing support of customized Windows 10 LTSC OS images for Back Office servers, POS registers, and handheld devices.
The ideal candidate will have deep experience in OS imaging, deployment automation, hardware integration, scripting, and enterprise toolsets.
Key Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain Windows 10 LTSC OS images (ISO format) for various hardware platforms including POS systems, handheld devices, and Back Office servers.
- Integrate and configure OPOS and OEM drivers, as well as application packages, into OS images for seamless deployment.
- Maintain and enhance Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) task sequences, ensuring proper automation of device drivers, application installs, and configuration scripts.
- Collaborate with vendors to silently install OPOS/OEM drivers and applications as part of the imaging process.
- Conduct rigorous testing in development labs across supported hardware models to ensure stability and performance.
- Support and maintain a wide library of Power Shell scripts to automate and streamline image creation and deployment.
- Perform research and validation on new hardware devices approved by the organization to ensure compatibility in production environments.
- Lead Proof of Concept (POC) testing for new devices in live restaurant environments and provide full support during evaluation periods.
- Act as a technical advisor to support teams during pilot rollouts of hardware and software.
- Address system issues, incorporate stakeholder feedback, and integrate improvements or new features into future image releases.
- Push emergency updates, scripts, and packages using Marimba or similar endpoint management tools.
- Notify vendors, suppliers, and internal teams of new OS image releases and provide updated versions as needed.
- Participate in PEN testing and security validation processes to ensure image and device security compliance.
Skills & Qualifications
- Hands‑on experience building and maintaining Windows 10 LTSC OS images using MDT.
- Strong Power Shell scripting skills for deployment automation and system configuration.
- Solid understanding of imaging processes including IPXE or similar network‑based imaging tools.
- Experience with POS retail systems such as Oracle Simphony or equivalent.
- Familiarity with integrating OPOS and OEM hardware drivers into OS images.
- Proven ability to perform hardware/software compatibility testing and validation.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally with support teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of security and compliance practices, with involvement in PeN testing or endpoint protection tools.
