Team Overview

We’re looking for a Sr. Staff Product Applications Engineer to join our Product Applications Engineering team, which focuses on Reader ICs, Readers, Systems, and Embedded Applications. Our mission is to help customers and partners successfully design and deploy IoT solutions using our next‑generation reader chip products, embedding RAIN RFID connectivity into a wide range of devices and platforms.

In this role, you’ll serve as a technical expert across embedded firmware, software, and system‑level applications related to RAIN RFID. You’ll work directly with industry‑leading customers and partners, providing hands‑on technical consultation and shaping tools, documentation, and product roadmaps that accelerate adoption. By bridging IC‑level enablement with Reader/Systems‑level integration, you’ll play a critical role in scaling our ecosystem in the rapidly growing IoT space.

What

You Will Do
  • Collaborate with sales, product management, and engineering teams to secure design wins and drive adoption with customers and partners
  • Support and enable our customers and partners in prototyping and productizing embedded and system‑level applications, including performance optimization, calibration, functional test, and regional certification
  • Analyze, debug, and optimize Reader IC applications in lab and prototype environments by applying core electrical and RF engineering principles, including antenna behavior, link budgets, impedance matching, power management, and timing analysis
  • Conduct hands‑on lab work, including hardware/software bring‑up, debugging, performance measurements, data analysis, and validation of new features and fixes
  • Create software, scripts, and prototypes to demonstrate product capabilities, and maintain clear, high quality technical documentation for internal and external audiences
  • Act as a technical expert on embedded firmware/software, Reader ICs, and system‑level applications, providing design guidance and implementation support
  • Deliver training and enablement for customers, partners, and internal technical staff on product features, capabilities, and best practices
  • Represent the voice of customer (VoC) to Product Management and Engineering, sharing field insights to influence product features, tools, and collateral
  • Champion our technology at industry events and partner engagements through demos, proof‑of‑concepts, and technical presentations
What You Will Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • 12+ years of experience in product application engineering, embedded system design, and customer‑facing technical support, preferably in RF, IoT, or embedded domains
  • Strong track record of delivering impactful results in customer‑facing technical roles
  • Proficiency in writing and debugging embedded firmware in C/C++ on microcontrollers (MCUs) and application processors
  • Experience with interpreted languages such as Python or JavaScript for automation, scripting, and lab tools
  • Solid understanding of RF communications fundamentals (link budgets, antennas, propagation, power management); direct experience with RAIN RFID is a plus
  • Hands‑on experience with embedded debug equipment (oscilloscopes, logic/protocol analyzers) and RF test equipment (power meters, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers)
  • Ability to apply EE and RF fundamentals in analyzing, debugging, and optimizing Reader IC and embedded applications
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive technical…
