We’re backed by Pioneer Square Labs (PSL). PSL is a premier startup studio that has launched 35+ venture-backed companies, and you’ll work directly with PSL’s world-class engineering team during onboarding while taking technical ownership from day one.

The role is for a founding technologist who wants real ownership, real impact, and a real shot at building something the AI world talks about.

Responsibilities

• Be the CEO’s thought partner on product direction, technical vision, and long-term strategy. You’ll shape the company as much as the codebase.

• Translate our product vision into a roadmap you actually believe in and can deliver on.

• Build the core of Prom.dev: architect systems, ship features, write production-quality code regularly.

• Engage deeply with our community of builders and prompt designers; what they care about should shape what we build.

• Recruit, hire, and lead our engineering team as we scale (you’ll help set the culture and the bar).

Who You Are

• You’re excited about AI, LLM prompting, and early-stage product creation.

• You have 3+ years of software engineering experience.

• You love to build in the open. Open-source or community-led project experience is a major plus.

• You are a problem-solver who thrives in ambiguity and early-stage environments where nothing is “someone else’s job.”

• You’re hungry. You want responsibility, ownership, and the chance to build a category-defining company people talk about.
