If you enjoy basic Word Press design and content management and teaming up with marketing to ship quick updates, then we’d love for you to join our team! You’ll keep our site current so visitors can find events, stories, and ways to get involved. This role is mostly focused on routine upkeep and provided content updates. You’ll also have the opportunity to volunteer with our Brand Committee to collaborate on future major web design updates.

Time & location: Fully remote; ~5–10 hrs/month; schedule is yours

JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Word Press Tech Volunteer

JOB SUMMARY

The Word Press Tech Volunteer supports the Marketing Team by maintaining and updating our website. This role focuses on basic content management tasks such as updating text, events, and images, creating new pages using templates, and uploading blogs. The position is designed to be completed in 5–10 hours per month and is ideal for someone with basic Word Press experience who wants to contribute to our mission in a flexible, remote-friendly way.

DUTIES

& RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Updates website text and event information as requested.
  • Swaps out images and ensures proper formatting.
  • Creates new pages using existing templates.
  • Uploads blog posts and makes minor formatting adjustments.
  • Ensures consistency with brand guidelines and accessibility standards.
  • Communicates progress and any issues to the Director of Marketing.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
  • Basic experience navigating the Word Press dashboard.
  • Familiarity with editing pages and posts in Word Press.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
SUPPORT
  • Access to Word Press login and relevant resources.
  • Guidance from the Marketing Manager on tasks and priorities.
  • Documentation and templates for page creation.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • This is a remote-friendly role; work can be completed from any location.
  • Requires access to a computer and reliable internet connection.
