Cybersecurity, Systems Engineer
Develop innovative solutions to enable secure and reliable operations of enterprise computer systems. Engineer, design, develop, and implement enterprise network cyber defense capabilities to prevent sophisticated cyber threats. Understand the fundamentals of layered defense and zero trust technologies. Prevent adversary network threats, identify advanced attack vectors, and thwart methods of exploitation.
Work individually or in a small integrated team, and potentially lead a task, project, or team. Ensure project completion and provide guidance and direction to lower-level technicians, specialists, and managers. Provide expertise in the engineering design, development, direction, and implementation of enterprise network cyber defense capabilities. Apply familiarity with the utilization, configuration, and implementation of cyber defense capabilities, including web content filters, email security, Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems, Host-Based Security Systems, Security Incident and Event Management tools, DNS security practices, advanced log analysis, network monitoring, flow analysis, packet capture analysis, network proxies, firewalls, anti-virus, Linux/UNIX command line, and access control lists.
- 4+ years of experience with privileged and elevated access operating, maintaining, and patching a DoD ACAS
- Experience with Windows and Linux OS, including server installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Experience working with STIGs, SCAP, and cybersecurity best practices
- Active TS/SCI clearance; willingness to take a polygraph exam
- HS diploma or GED plus 7+ years of cyber engineering experience, or an associate’s degree plus 5+ years, or a bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years, or a master’s degree plus 1+ year of relevant experience
- DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, GICSP, CND)
- Ability to obtain DoD 8570.01-M Cyber Security Service Provider - Infrastructure Support Certification (e.g., CEH, CySA+, GICSP, SSCP, CHFI, CFR, Cloud+)
Optional Qualifications:
- Experience with Gigamon, Ansible, Encase, Fidelis, Suricata, Varonis, VMWare
- Experience with Cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with big data analytics, machine learning, AI, or anomaly detection
- Experience with Zero-Trust Architecture
- Experience with Dev Sec Ops , CI/CD, IaC, CaC, ITIL, and ITSM
- Scripting in Power Shell, BASH, Python, or Perl
- Experience in consulting or client-facing roles
- Ability to automate security configurations and recommend remediations
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
