Responsibilities

Team Intro. Tik Tok video system is a world-leading video platform that provides multimedia storage, delivery, transcoding services. As a part of the US Tech Service department, we are responsible for building the next generation video processing platform which provides excellent experiences for billions of users around the world.

Join the Video Platform team to navigate the complexities of large scale distributed systems spanning multiple regions, managing vast data streams from billions of users. Dive into the distinctive challenges posed by video on demand and live streaming, where ensuring low latency and high quality videos is paramount across diverse network conditions.

In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time.

• Take ownership of building, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines and ETL processes for Video on Demand and Live Streaming products, focusing on the needs of business analytics and reporting.
• Troubleshoot, investigate, and analyze data issues as they arise, ensuring root causes are identified and resolved efficiently to maintain the integrity and quality of data in analytics solutions.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to define data requirements, structure, and ensure data availability for analytics and reporting purposes.
• Design, build, and maintain reporting and dashboarding tools that provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
• Develop and implement data models to support key business metrics and performance indicators.
• Collaborate with data scientists, business teams, and engineers to ensure data integrity and efficient data flow.
• Translate business needs into technical specifications and deliver insights that guide strategic decision‑making.
• Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines and reporting solutions, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions to improve system efficiency.

• A Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline like Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related fields.
• 2+ years working as an Analytics Engineer, Business Intelligence Engineer, Data Analyst or similar role focused on building data pipelines, analytics solutions, or business intelligence tools.
• 2+ years of hands‑on experience with SQL, Python, or other scripting languages for data manipulation and transformation.
• 2+ years of experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.), with a focus on creating scalable and interactive dashboards.
• Experience in designing and optimizing ETL processes and building data models to support business metrics and KPIs.

• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to break down complex problems into actionable solutions.
• Experience working with large‑scale data systems, particularly in video or live streaming domains, is a plus.
