IT Support, Hardware Engineer
About the Position:
We’re looking for a hands‑on, detail‑oriented Data Center Technician to keep our infrastructure running smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you’ll install and maintain hardware, manage inventory, and troubleshoot a variety of systems across our labs and data centers. You’ll work with everything from servers and cables to HVAC alerts and shipping logistics, playing a key role in keeping Qumulo’s technical operations on track.

- Install, provision and repair datacenter hardware (client hardware, storage nodes, networking gear, etc)
- Basic networking and cable management – Fiber, twinax, ethernet, serial, wifi, etc.
- Intermediate OS software configuration – Windows, OSX, Linux, etc.
- Basic data center HVAC and Power management (be able to determine when something is wrong, and inform vendors)
- Shipping and receiving
- Capacity planning and stakeholder management
- Supply ordering and inventory management
- Warranty tracking and returns
- Trash disposal and general grooming of lab space
- Ability to balance competing priorities and drive issues to completion
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or equivalent work experience
- Experience troubleshooting network installation and configuration
- Ability to triage and repair data center fiber optic cabling/systems and network hardware
- Ability to independently lift & rack equipment up to 50lbs
- May require working in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines
The annual pay range for the role is USD $64,000 - $96,000.
Individual pay depends on various factors, such as role level, relevant experience and skills, and location. Pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the pay range applicable at the time.
