POSITION SUMMARY:

First Choice Health Network is looking for a senior, hands-on Cloud, Network, and Linux Engineer to be the team's technical lead for networking, cloud infrastructure (AWS and OCI), and Linux systems. We build and manage our own line-of-business applications and infrastructure in-house, so this is a true  builder  role: this person will design, automate, and scale the systems that run our business rather than simply maintaining what already exists.

They will also mentor and lead by example for the rest of the infrastructure team, setting technical standards and serving as the go-to expert for complex networking, cloud, and Linux challenges. Experience with EDI using SFTP and AS2 is highly desired. We operate in a heavily regulated and audited environment, managing Protected Health Information (PHI) and other sensitive medical information.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Technical Leadership & Mentorship:
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to other engineers on networking, cloud, and Linux best practices; lead by example on complex troubleshooting and architecture decisions.
  • Set and document technical standards and best practices for the infrastructure team.
  • Evaluate and introduce AI-assisted development and agentic tooling to the infrastructure team, mentoring others on effective and responsible use.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex networking, cloud, and Linux incidents.
  • Networking, Cloud & Infrastructure Operations:
  • Own network administration and routing—switches, firewalls, VPNs, and TCP/IP networking—across on-premise and cloud (AWS/OCI) environments.
  • Design, build, and maintain infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, OCI Resource Manager) to provision, scale, and manage systems, moving the team toward automation-first operations.
  • Develop internal automation tooling to reduce manual operational work and increase reliability across infrastructure and operations.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and internal systems deployments.
  • Evaluate, deploy, and manage infrastructure supporting AI and agentic systems as our applications adopt AI capabilities.
  • Use AI-assisted development and agentic automation tools (e.g., AI coding assistants, automation agents) to accelerate infrastructure-as-code, scripting, and operational tooling.
  • Collaborate with the application development team and infrastructure team on efforts to migrate workloads, scale out systems, and continuously optimize and refactor services.
  • Manage various infrastructure services in OCI/AWS/On-prem.
  • Perform routine installation, upgrades, and patching of software and systems.
  • Administer Linux systems at the OS and application level.
  • Ensure the integrity of our disaster recovery and business continuity by monitoring backups and DR/BC environments.
  • Participate in on-call rotation.
  • EDI System Management:
  • Monitor and troubleshoot automated scripting for EDI transmissions (hundreds of daily inbound/outbound files) and in-house database application interfaces.
  • Maintain, develop, and refactor EDI-related Python/KORN shell scripts and legacy scripting environments.
  • Monitor CRON jobs, troubleshoot alarms, alerts, and failed jobs.
  • Set up new EDI/SFTP connections and update script configuration files.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Infrastructure Director for Linux/systems/cloud administration.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5+ years of senior-level experience administering Linux systems in production environments.
  • 3+ years of experience administering and…
