A law firm seeks an experienced Of Counsel attorney to join its education-law practice in Seattle, WA. The role involves representing students and families in educational matters, including K-12 education disputes, special education, student discipline, and discrimination issues. This position offers the opportunity to engage in complex litigation with a focus on advocacy and civil rights.

• Draft pleadings, discovery, and dispositive motions.
• Argue motions in state and federal courts.
• Conduct witness interviews, take and defend depositions, and prepare for trial.
• Identify and apply relevant education-law provisions to cases.
• Evaluate claims and promote early, just resolution of disputes.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues.

• Minimum of 6 years of civil litigation experience.
• Proven track record of managing civil litigation cases through all stages.
• Civil rights litigation experience is highly desirable.
• Licensed to practice law in Washington (required).
• Additional bar licenses in Oregon, California, or Idaho are preferred.
• Background in education, including teaching and school administration, is strongly preferred.

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

• Licensed to practice law in Washington.

• Experience with federal court practice is a plus.
• Experience with Washington Superior Courts is a plus.
• Strong advocacy skills with a focus on civil rights and educational equity.
