Patent Attorney – Electrical Engineering Associate

Seattle, WA. Hybrid: two in-office days per week. Relocation assistance is available.

• Prepare and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications in electrical engineering–related technologies, including semiconductor devices, chip architecture, and integrated circuits.
• Conduct patentability, freedom-to-operate, and landscape analyses to support client counseling and strategic IP decisions.
• Collaborate closely with clients, inventors, and in‑house teams to understand technical innovations and align patent strategy with business objectives.
• Respond to office actions, manage ongoing prosecution matters, and maintain a well‑organized docket.
• Work closely with other attorneys, patent agents, and staff to ensure efficient workflow, high‑quality work product, and consistent client service.
• Support the development and protection of client IP portfolios through clear communication, sound judgment, and practical recommendations.

• 3 to 5 years of patent prosecution experience in a law firm or in‑house legal department.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Admission to practice and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• USPTO registration required.
• Authorization to work in the U.S.

The salary range for this position is $200,000 to $240,000, depending on experience, with eligibility for a performance‑based bonus.
