A Personal Injury Attorney is responsible for taking a case through litigation to secure the best possible compensation for clients. This includes preparing each case as if it will go to trial and supporting the pre-litigation phase. The role requires a deep understanding of Washington State personal injury law, strong litigation skills, and a client-focused approach. The attorney will handle a diverse caseload including motor vehicle accidents, slip and fall incidents, and Washington workers’ compensation cases.
Key Responsibilities- Case Evaluation: Analyze cases to understand injury severity, assess merits, and provide legal advice on outcomes and strategies.
- Negotiations/Settlements: Negotiate settlements with insurance companies, opposing attorneys, and other parties; advocate for the highest possible compensation including medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, and other damages.
- Litigation Representation: Represent clients in court during hearings, motions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials when settlements are not reached; file and manage legal documents (complaints, motions, discovery requests) within deadlines.
- Regulatory Updates: Stay current with changes in Washington state personal injury law to ensure accurate advice and effective representation.
- Active Washington State Bar membership is required for practice in Washington courts.
- Minimum 7 years of professional work experience, with litigation experience in personal injury.
- Proficiency in drafting legal documents; strong aptitude for structured processes and achieving KPIs.
- Interest and passion for personal injury law; ability to assist clients throughout their personal injury journey.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to build rapport with clients.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Experience in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
- Pay Range: $100K - $140K
