This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products.

To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

As the MK2 Schedule Lead, you will play a critical role in the planning and schedule execution for the MK2 Lunar Lander team. Reporting to the MK2 Program Operations Director, you will be responsible for management of the integrated schedule baseline in Primavera P6, which will be used to drive execution and measure our project success.

Responsibilities
  • Support the management of an integrated schedule baseline, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), and detailed IPT-level schedules.
  • Solicit inputs on requirements and dependencies across MK2 product teams, ensuring clear communication and strong organizational skills throughout the process.
  • Drive the execution of these plans by coordinating status updates, collecting performance data, performing regular forecast updates, and providing actionable reporting.
  • Using schedule performance data, generate actionable metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and schedule reporting artifacts to inform IPT leaders and influence future schedule updates.
  • Drive assigned IPTs to execute and hold them accountable for schedule performance against the MK2 program plan.
  • Proactively mitigate roadblocks to ensure projects stay on track. A strong attention to detail and proactive analysis of schedule status and variances will be essential to influence future performance and deliver project objectives on schedule.
  • Implement effective change management to account for approved scope changes.
  • Actively vet schedule forecast updates for accuracy and realism, including cost estimates to complete (ETC) and Estimate at Complete (EAC) exercises.
  • Embody unwavering dedication and tenacity in driving the development and construction of our lander.
  • Ensure that we meet critical deadlines and deliver a robust, reliable lander essential for our mission’s success.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience and comfort with working in ambiguous environments and situations.
  • Undergraduate degree in business, finance, engineering, project management or other highly analytical field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in program scheduling (aerospace industry and/or R&D programs preferred).
  • Broad/deep scheduling and planning skillset – proficiency with resource-loaded schedules using Primavera (P6), MS Project, or other software.
  • Control account management including schedule baselining, reforecasting, variance analysis, and schedule-change management.
  • Proven ability to build, develop, and maintain a fully networked and resource-loaded Integrated Master Schedule from scratch.
  • Demonstrated experience proactively driving results, going beyond input collection and reporting.
  • Skilled in developing schedule reports and analysis of KPIs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA, or Project Management certification (PMP/Certified Project Manager).
  • Experience establishing new research and development programs.
  • Experience in fast-paced development environments.
  • Experience working with government contracts.
  • Experience with project cost management.
