Role Summary

Manager of people leaders, managing a defined portfolio of teams within a business unit to deliver high performance.

Bachelor's or Master's or equivalent experience

Functional/ Technical Skills

White belt or equivalent in Lean or other continuous improvement methodology with practical experience applying in a service environment. Skilled at using data to analyze business performance.

Role Expectations
  • Ensures escalations and root causes are fully addressed and resolved.
  • Lead supervisors who develop and implement team policies and procedures.
  • Call out process and knowledge gaps that leave Expedia Group unduly exposed to customer
    * dissatisfaction and litigation.
  • Understands the value the team brings to the business and works to maximize that value.
  • Identifies and cultivates knowledge experts and stakeholders to ensure team are fully supported for their operational work.
  • Ensures team are aware of relevant business changes and knowledge. Understands the context and communicates it effectively.
  • Prioritizes actions by understanding the connection between business activities and outcomes, and drives process improvement activities within the team and through support groups.
  • Works with staff to develop individual development plans addressing employee needs and meeting team goals.
  • Evaluates performance regularly, identifying learning needs.
  • Uses appropriate coaching techniques to unlock team members’ potential to grow their skills and help them drive their performance.
  • Promotes an inclusive and diverse work environment.
  • Clarifies roles, accountabilities, and decision-making among team members.
  • Helps team members prioritize and link daily work to broader objectives.
  • Manages workloads to ensure all team members are fully deployed and skills are matched to the work requirements.
  • Prioritizes team morale and productivity, celebrating team accomplishments.
  • Promotes collaboration among team members. Encourages others to cooperate and coordinate efforts.
  • Through successful employee survey analysis, identifies attrition risks and engagement challenges, and develop action plan with leaders to minimise risks.
  • Proactively and transparently manages conflict.
  • Evaluates current team projects or goals and identifies the relevant skills and expertise needed to accomplish them.
  • Plans for and distributes necessary financial/material resources to ensure accomplishment of team goals.
  • Tracks resource use to ensure minimal waste and reduce duplication of efforts.
  • Builds working relationships with colleagues in affiliated roles and departments, including those outside own business unit, to improve collaboration, support product/solution design and improve customer
    * experience.
  • May act as a representative of the department on working groups or core teams in a specialized area of impact or interest to own department.
  • Ensures team is prepared for any business continuity issues that may arise.
  • Considers potential business continuity issues and ensures policies and processes are up to date and actionable.
  • Ensures the appropriate handling of any business continuity incident that occurs impacting the site or team.
  • Proactively offers support to other parts of the business impacted by active business continuity issues.
