The Amazon Energy Procurement Operations (EPO) team manages supply contracts post execution, provides controllership and governance of energy spend, tracks environmental attributes and ensures our energy supply portfolio is compliant with external regulations, contract obligations as well as internal policies. You will be a part of the team responsible for managing the world’s largest portfolio of corporate renewable energy contracts.

We are looking for an individual to join our OpXL team and enhance our programs, including onboarding new energy projects and contracts, overseeing the flow of critical operating data into downstream systems, analyzing and reporting Utility Energy contract performance, tracking key contractual metrics and obligations, and managing compliance obligation reporting. The right candidate can manage multiple projects simultaneously, has strong contract management skills, experience with business processes, and experience defining and reporting metrics in BI tools.

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles.

We collaborate across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.

Key job responsibilities
  • Support overseeing energy agreements and invoice ingestion management globally.
  • Support the on-boarding process for energy contracts and Data Center site locations across different geographies with a large number of counter parties and internal stakeholders. Track progress and drive for successful completion.
  • Support data connectivity activities, including oversight of vendors and service providers, planning and scheduling activities, commercial issue resolution, and overall management of data connections.
  • Report and analyze portfolio performance in collaboration with other teams, identifying impacts to our business units and our customers.
  • Support the management of the contractual obligations with counter parties and drive internal processes and workflows to fulfill obligations on Amazon’s behalf.
  • Plan and drive execution of initiatives to improve our energy operations. Continuously seek to invent and simplify in order to achieve further scale effect for Amazon’s management of its energy portfolio.
  • Work collaboratively with other AWS and Amazon teams to support the management of the energy programs.
  • Consolidate portfolio reporting KPIs to help define program goals and use metrics to draw business insights.
  • Support invoicing, accounts payable/receivable workflows to ensure transaction readiness and continuity of operations.
  • Support Energy compliance obligation tracking, reporting, filing, and fulfillment.
  • Oversee outside spend contract management, including onboarding, budgeting, forecasting, and conflict resolution.

Each day you will interact with different teams responsible for all aspects of the data centers. You will prioritize your activities to support data center capacity delivery, availability and safety focusing on the actions that are most impactful.
