Operations Management, Retail & Store Manager
At REI Co-op, we believe time outside is for everyone. As a Store Operations Manager, you will help make work easier for store teams across the co-op. You will lead the Store Operations team focused on Operational Excellence and build processes that are simple to learn, easy to use, and consistent across stores.
In this role, you will turn business priorities into clear plans and actionable programs. You will work closely with leaders and cross-functional partners to improve how work gets done, support store teams, and create a better experience for both employees and customers. From early planning through launch and long-term support, you will help bring ideas to life and drive meaningful results.
Responsibilitiesand Qualifications Responsibilities
- Set team goals, priorities, operating plans, and success measures aligned with Co-op and stores channel strategies.
- Lead operational excellence programs from concept and pilot through launch, measurement, and sustainment.
- Improve store productivity, service, compliance, business continuity, customer experience, and financial performance.
- Balance people, funding, timelines, and store workload to deliver programs on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Advise senior leaders as a store operations subject-matter expert and build alignment across field and support teams.
- Hire, retain, coach, and develop a high-performing team, including people managers and senior program leaders.
- Seven or more years leading teams in program development, project management, or omnichannel strategy and execution.
- Seven or more years leading medium to large, cross-divisional projects within multi-year roadmaps.
- Deep store operations knowledge gained in a complex national or international retail environment.
- Experience translating strategy into operating plans and leading complex operational change with broad impact.
- Strong leadership, communication, influencing, financial, and analytical skills, with the ability to adapt priorities in an evolving environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience; MBA preferred.
