Job Description

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your project and program leadership expertise in a cutting-edge, safety-critical industry.

You’ll work alongside collaborative, multidisciplinary, and dynamic teams and provide strategic leadership and overall accountability for the successful delivery of complex rolling stock projects. Your scope will cover the full project lifecycle, including contract launch, design development, manufacturing, supply-chain coordination, testing, commissioning, vehicle acceptance, warranty management, operational readiness, and transition into revenue service.

You’ll be accountable for project scope, budget, schedule, quality, safety, risk management, contractual obligations, supplier performance, customer satisfaction, and overall financial performance. You’ll translate strategic objectives into executable plans and ensure the delivery of safe, reliable, maintainable, sustainable, and customer-focused rail vehicles.

As the primary interface with the customer and key partners, you’ll provide clear recommendations and decision support on contractual, commercial, technical, operational, and programmatic matters. You’ll also collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Safety, Finance, Legal, Services, and other functions to ensure effective project execution and vehicle integration.

Day to day, you’ll oversee the Work Breakdown Structure, detailed schedules, budgets, risks, opportunities, contractual commitments, and performance indicators. You’ll lead the core project team, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and drive the corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives required to achieve project objectives.

We’ll look to you for

  • Providing strategic leadership and end-to-end accountability for complex rolling stock projects, from contract launch through vehicle acceptance, warranty, and transition into revenue service.
  • Managing project scope, WBS, schedule, budget, cash flow, margin, quality, safety, risks, opportunities, and overall financial performance.
  • Serving as the primary customer interface for contractual, commercial, technical, and operational matters.
  • Leading design reviews, manufacturing readiness, production, testing, commissioning, vehicle acceptance, and corrective action activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, applicable regulations, internal governance, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Managing suppliers and subcontractors, including deliverables, production schedules, quality, testing, warranties, recovery plans, and contract performance.
  • Anticipating project risks and opportunities and implementing effective mitigation, recovery, and change-management plans.
  • Coordinating Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Safety, Finance, Legal, and Services to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Leading and developing a multidisciplinary project team while fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Preparing executive-level reporting and partnering with the Customer Director and Platform teams to strengthen customer relationships and identify additional opportunities.

All about you

  • Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Significant project leadership experience in transportation, ideally within rolling stock.
  • Proven ability to manage complex contracts, budgets, schedules, risks, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong customer management, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • PMP certification and North American rail experience are preferred.
