Located in Seattle, Skinny Dipped was founded by a mom, her daughter, and two best friends after realizing that nothing is more important than time spent with the ones you love. Starting out of their kitchen, the four women created Skinny Dipped: thinly dipped chocolate almonds that are exceptionally good-for-you and ridiculously delicious. We are a women-led company driven by the belief that healthy snacking should make both you and your body happy.
About The Role
We’re looking for a curious, hands-on Product Developer with strong culinary instincts and a genuine passion for great food.
In this role, you’ll support our Director of R&D and Chief of Innovation in bringing new chocolate and snack ideas to life. You’ll help execute product development projects from early concept through launch - conducting benchtop work, coordinating trials, gathering data, managing documentation, and supporting cross-functional collaboration. You’ll play an essential role in transforming creative concepts into delicious products that reflect the heart of our brand.
What You’ll Do
- Support the Director of R&D and Chief of Innovation in developing new products from concept through launch - assisting with formulation, testing, and iterative refinement
- In concert with the R&D team, work with co-manufacturers and suppliers to help manage trials, collect samples, troubleshoot issues, and support smooth scale-up
- Source and evaluate exceptional ingredients and packaging, bringing a sharp palate and a knack for discovering what tastes incredible and aligns with our brand
- Conduct benchtop experiments, sensory evaluations, and shelf-life testing under the guidance of R&D leadership
- Project management including timelines, milestones, workflows, and cross-functional alignment to keep development efforts moving smoothly from concept through launch.
- Keep formulations, data, and project documentation organized to ensure clarity, accuracy, and repeatability
- Stay engaged with culinary and ingredient trends, surfacing inspiring ideas to the R&D team
What You Bring
- Strong foundation in culinary arts, food science, and product development, especially in translating culinary concepts into scalable CPG products
- Demonstrated experience in commercialization of new products in CPG.
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, from ideation through commercialization, while meeting deadlines and budget constraints
- Deep understanding of consumer and culinary trends, with the ability to apply insights to product innovation
- A naturally curious palate and an instinct for what makes food taste exceptional
- A collaborative, detail-oriented approach and a real love for great food
Bonus Points If You:
- Have experience working with co-manufacturers
- Have worked on clean-label, plant-based, or functional product development
- Thrive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments and enjoy working with passionate food people
- Annual performance bonus
- Equity opportunity
- 401(k)
- Paid parental leave
- Paid time off to volunteer
- Additional perks like wellness & tech stipends
