- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years experience operating autofold, laser, press brake/turret or other metal fabrication tools
- Good knowledge of fabrication machinery, electrical equipment, and hand tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and designs
- Outstanding attention to detail and ability to multi‑task
- Ability to use tape measures and other measuring tools
- Read and understand work orders and job schedules
- Must be willing to undergo a pre‑employment drug test
- Must be able to effectively read, write and speak the English language
- Ability to frequently bend, twist, grip, squat and lift
- Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently, and lift 70 pounds occasionally
- Safe operation of autofold, press brake, shear and various other tools used to complete projects.
- Create quality and accurate cuts/bends/folds according to blueprints.
- Cut and label all sheet metal for jobs on the floor.
- Use welding and other metal processing equipment – a plus.
- Use measuring equipment such as tape measure, micrometer, calipers, square, protractor, etc…
- Perform basic math and verify job requirements, specifications, maintaining quality standards.
- Follow and enforce all VDI safety rules and regulations.
- Ensure equipment is properly set‑up & used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use.
- Operate forklift, if required and certified.
- Perform inspections on product before, during, and after the build following VDI’s standards.
- Monitor functionality of equipment and tools and request maintenance when required.
- Perform basic and preventative maintenance and repair as required.
- Effectively communicate with supervisors & other production staff to coordinate work schedules.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Salary for Washington State Based Applicants: $23.00–$28.00 per hour (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and in keeping with local legislation).
