Job SummaryJoin NPI as a Tool & Die Technician to perform basic setup and maintenance of tooling and equipment to support manufacturing. After a production order is completed, you will clean the tools, visually inspect them for damage, and communicate any tooling issues. Duties include assembling, repairing, rebuilding, maintaining, and storing tooling components for die cast and other tooling applications. You will inspect and verify tooling components using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gages.
You will operate more than one type of machine tool—such as surface grinders, mills, drill presses, lathes—on machining operations of moderate complexity.
- Disassemble tooling components.
- Accurately assemble tooling.
- Carefully inspect and evaluate tooling components.
- Inspect mechanical components on various machines.
- Efficiently clean and store tooling components.
- Systematically evaluate damage to tooling components.
- Surface grinding and setup.
- Mill setup and locating.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Comply with company procedures and work instructions.
- Perform work safely and environmentally conscientiously according to company policy.
- Knowledge of mechanical assemblies and their functions related to assembly and repair.
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment to inspect and verify tooling components, such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, and gages.
- Limited knowledge of blueprint reading.
- Working knowledge of surface grinders and various hand tools; ability to use many types of precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to stand up to eight hours per day.
- Ability to routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to use shop mathematics.
- Ability to learn general computer skills.
- High School Diploma, GED, or higher (preferred).
- 3–5 years of experience as a Tool and Die Technician (preferred).
$26.00–$32.00
