Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician ensures optimum operational performance of systems, production machinery, and facility equipment s role is responsible for the timely execution of repairs and maintenance, maintaining a high standard of building and property appearance, and supporting a preventive maintenance program focused on minimizing equipment and building breakdowns and associated repair/replacement expenses. The Maintenance Technician works closely with the Maintenance Lead and production teams to keep operations running safely, reliably, and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment & Facility Maintenance
- Perform highly diversified duties to install,maintain, and repair production machines and plant facility equipment as directed by the Maintenance Lead.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Dismantle, adjust, repair, rebuild, assemble, or replace manufacturing equipment according to layout plans, blueprints,operatingor repair manuals, rough sketches, or drawings.
- Perform a variety of plumbing and carpentry maintenance functions to support facility upkeep and functionality.
- Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production, as well as scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service windows.
- Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to performrequiredmaintenance and service.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in the performance of maintenance duties.
- Detect faulty operations and defectivematerials, and promptly report issues and unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Maintaina safe and clean working environment bycomplying withprocedures, rules, and regulations.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, as required by the job.
- Contribute toteam efforts byaccomplishingrelated tasks and results as needed to support maintenance and production goals.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Advanced technical or college trainingpreferred.
- 2 years of related industrial maintenance experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting, configuration, installation, and repair of manufacturing equipment.
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, as well as furnace and temperature control system troubleshooting and installation.
- Welding and cutting torch knowledge.
- Basic experience reading pneumatic diagrams and blueprints.
- Basic PLC knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to update inventories and other supplies as needed.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines with multiple interruptions.
- Strong problem-solving ability and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
- Highly motivated, witha strong senseof ownership for equipment performance and facilitycondition.
