Job SummaryThe Facility Maintenance Technician ensures optimum operational performance of systems, production machinery and facility equipment. The role implements timely repairs, maintains a high standard of building appearance, and supports a preventive maintenance program to minimize equipment, building and associated repair expenses. The Technician works closely with the Maintenance Lead and production teams to keep operations running safely, reliably and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities Equipment & Facility Maintenance- Install, maintain and repair production machines and plant facilities as directed by the Maintenance Lead.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Dismantle, adjust, rebuild, assemble or replace manufacturing equipment according to plans, blueprints or drawings.
- Conduct plumbing and carpentry maintenance functions to support facility upkeep.
- Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs during production and scheduled maintenance during machine service windows.
- Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance.
- Use hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment to carry out maintenance duties.
- Detect faulty operations and defective materials, reporting issues promptly to supervisors.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Wear appropriate PPE, including hearing protection, as required.
- Contribute to team efforts to support maintenance and production goals.
- High school diploma or GED required; advanced technical or college training preferred.
- 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of machinery, tools, troubleshooting, configuration, installation and repair.
- Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, furnace and temperature control troubleshooting.
- Welding and cutting torch knowledge.
- Basic experience reading pneumatic diagrams and blueprints.
- Basic PLC knowledge is a plus.
- Ability to interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
- Ability to update inventories and supplies.
- Strong problem‑solving, team‑oriented mindset and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- High noise level; medium to loud.
- Active position requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing.
- Frequently required to lift or move items over 75 pounds.
- Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and focus adjustment.
- Manual dexterity sufficient for operating manufacturing machinery and hand tools.
- Communication in English to convey information clearly.
- Exposure to hazards or physical risks; requires safety precautions.
- Moderate exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, odors, vibration and moving mechanical parts.
- Comfortable working at heights up to 25 feet.
- Appropriate PPE, including hearing protection.
