We are proud of our important role in Seattle and are looking to add someone to the team who is experienced with event management, donor stewardship, communications, and who is highly organized. The ideal candidate should succeed at: orchestrating great events, maintaining impeccable attention to detail, being a masterful communicator, and building strong relationships with donors. When you’re not leading awesome events, stewarding donors, and keeping our data in order, you will support other Seattle Works programs & activities, such as hands-on volunteer projects (painting, weeding, and everything in between).

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Development and Communications Manager is responsible for:

  • Planning and implementing our annual auction and gala and other fundraising events
  • Building and stewarding relationships with donors, including recruiting a diverse donor pool to strive for an equitable and inclusive donor base
  • Managing donor data, ensuring that all information in documented in a timely manner and that no information falls through the cracks
  • Leading communications strategy and creation of social media content and marketing materials

This position will serve as a key member of a highly collaborative staff team. Seattle Works is a friendly and dynamic organization with high expectations for staff to work in partnership with each other and with volunteers to deliver results.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead planning and execution of Swank, our annual auction & gala

  • Develop and implement event production plan for an auction and gala with 400 attendees, including all vendor coordination, event logistics, and program development
  • Drive audience development and ensure an excellent guest and sponsor experience at the event
  • Manage Swank Committee’s volunteer-led activities around procurement, event design, and audience development
  • Develop all communications materials for the event, including copy for auction catalog
  • Lead data entry and guest reports for online auction software
  • Manage event logistics the night of the event

Coordinate Seattle Works Day communication, sponsor team management, and after party

  • Lead after party planning and coordinate planning with program staff lead
  • Cultivate and recruit sponsors, acting as the primary relationship manager for sponsored teams
  • Build a multi-platform communications strategy to market the event amongst direct service partners, participants, vendors, sponsors, and other key stakeholders
  • Coordinate vendors and in-kind donations and any necessary pick-up and delivery logistics

Steward corporate engagement and relationships

  • Act as primary contact for portfolio of current corporate partners and executing outreach to new corporate partners
  • Champion our value of building a diverse and welcoming community with our corporate partners
  • Solicit and steward sponsors for Seattle Works Day and Swank
  • Build and sustain a year-round corporate sponsorship program that has several programmatic and event touch-points
  • Collaborate with Program Team to coordinate and staff tabling and outreach appearances at corporate partner volunteer fairs

Oversee individual giving program

  • Manage individual giving programs, with a focus on the peer-to-peer online annual campaign, board giving, and event donations
  • Recruit and steward a diverse donor pool to strive for an equitable and inclusive donor network
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, staff, and Resource Development Committee to steward donor relationships
