Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level III/IV Neonatal ICU position in Washington, requiring a WA or compact RN license and a minimum of three years' NICU experience.
Responsibilities- Work in a Level III or IV Neonatal ICU caring for neonates as early as 23-24 weeks gestation
- Assignments do not involve patient admission duties due to a dedicated Admit Nurse
- Patients may require CPAP/BiPap, high frequency ventilators, oscillators, vents, blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, cooling/warming blankets, feeding tubes, PICC/central lines, syringe pumps
- Attend high risk deliveries and assist with neonatal surgeries
- Rare floating to Pediatrics, only assigned to infant care if needed
- Expected to float between different campuses and facilities within the state as required
- Shifts are day shifts (3x12 hours), with block scheduling available by preference
- EMR system used:
Epic (proficiency required) - Former permanent staff must have at least a three-month separation before working as a traveler
- All travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state if needed
- Requests for time off must be disclosed at the time of application; scheduling changes post-offer may be denied
- Candidates refusing to float as required may have their assignments terminated
- Minimal to no time off is preferred during the contract
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Minimum three years of NICU experience required
- Recent experience with Level III or IV NICU patient population
- BLS and other required certifications must be current and submitted for consideration
- Ability to provide a minimum of two supervisory references from the past three years in a comparable specialty or setting
- Must not have been a permanent employee at any Providence-affiliated facility within the last three months
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
