Travel RN - Mother Baby - Post Partum

American Traveler is hiring a Mother-Baby/Postpartum RN with 2+ years of experience and prior travel assignment experience for a 13-week contract at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital.

• Active WA state or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Mother-Baby/Postpartum nursing required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Skilled in newborn assessments, vital signs, glucose screening, baths, complex feeds, phototherapy, and medication administration
• Experienced with magnesium, insulin, PCA/PCEA, and heparin infusions
• Skilled in postpartum care including fundus/lochia/perineum care, cesarean section recovery, postpartum hemorrhage, and vaginal delivery care
• Proficient in IV therapy, central line maintenance, and administration of blood and blood products
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required with no exceptions

• Work in the Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Postpartum unit of a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
• Patient ratio of 1:3
• Weekend shifts required unless otherwise noted on the posted schedule
• Floating within the hospital required, but not to sister hospitals
• No on-call requirements
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• Provide comprehensive newborn and postpartum patient care within a Level 1 Nursery and Postpartum setting
• Perform breastfeeding instruction, car seat education, and discharge teaching for new parents
• Care for newborns with conditions such as hypoglycemia, low birth weight, and large for gestational age
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
• RTO should be kept to a minimum, with a maximum of 1 week, and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Prior UW Medical Center staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
