American Traveler is hiring an experienced PICU Registered Nurse for a night shift assignment requiring at least 2 years of pediatric critical care experience and BLS/PALS certification.
Details- Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) of a hospital setting
- Pediatric critical care patient population including ENT, general surgery, ortho, and pre/post-op cases
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required to NICU or other units within skill set, with orientation provided
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Current BLS and PALS certification required
- NRP and CRRT certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of pediatric critical care nursing experience required
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience with ventilator management, trach care, chest tube care, CPAP/BiPAP, and high frequency vents/oscillators
- Experience with central line, PICC line, and port-a-cath care
- Experience with blood and blood product administration
- Experience with CVP monitoring and 12 lead EKG acquisition
- Experience with procedural sedation and RSI drug administration
- Experience with epidural and PCA pump management
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill pediatric patients requiring advanced respiratory, cardiovascular, and renal support
- Responsible for wound assessment and care
- First-time travelers accepted provided they meet experience requirements
- Former permanent staff at other Providence facilities (non-Swedish) eligible to return as travelers after a 3-month separation
- Returning staff must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility they are submitting to
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Limited RTO accepted; all time-off requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
- Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
