Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2+ years of telemetry experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Details
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
  • Cardiac PCU setting treating myocardial infarction, arrhythmias, pre/post open-heart and vascular surgery, heart failure, and stroke patients with cardiac involvement
  • Patient ratio is 1:4, with possible 1:5 at midnight
  • Floating required to like units within the facility and sister facilities
  • Every other weekend required
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • Performs breathing treatments, chest tube setup/care, CPAP/BiPAP, trach care, sternal precautions, cardioversion/defibrillation, epicardial pacer management, and telemetry/dysrhythmia interpretation
  • Cares for patients with LVAD and post-open heart surgery (24-28 hours post-op)
Requirements
  • Active WA or compact RN license required at time of submission
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of telemetry/surgical tele experience required
  • Experience with open heart surgery and vascular (groin/radial band) management required
  • IV skills required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • VAD and TAVR experience preferred
  • Teaching and community hospital experience preferred
Additional Information
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Former permanent staff at this facility must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must live outside a 50-mile radius
  • Permanent staff from other Providence facilities (non-Swedish) are eligible for a travel contract after a 3-month separation
  • Must reside within 50 miles of the facility for local candidate consideration
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be granted
  • 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years are required
  • Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including dates and locations
