American Traveler is hiring a PICU RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of pediatric critical care experience and PALS certification.
Details- Work in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
- Pediatric critical care patient population including ENT, general surgery, ortho, and pre/post-op cases
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30)
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required to NICU or other units within skill set
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- NRP and CRRT certifications preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Experience with breathing treatments, chest tube setup/care, CPAP/BiPAP, high frequency vents, oscillators, procedural sedation, and RSI drugs
- Experience with trach care and ventilator management
- Experience administering blood and blood products
- Experience with CVP monitoring and obtaining 12 lead EKGs
- Experience with drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, PICC/central lines, port-a-cath/vascular access, syringe pumps, traction/halo/pin care, triple lumen catheters, and wound vac
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients requiring specialized respiratory, cardiovascular, and procedural support
- First-time travelers accepted provided they meet experience requirements
- Orientation provided for floating assignments
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- RTO requests should be submitted upfront, with limited flexibility for additional time off after offer
- Former Providence permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month separation period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Candidates residing within 50 miles may be accepted at a lower bill rate
- Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
