American Traveler is hiring a NICU RN for a Level III regional referral center, requiring at least 3 years of recent high-acuity Level III NICU experience and prior travel assignment history.
Details- Work in a 54-bed Level III NICU serving as a regional referral center for high-risk infants
- Patient population primarily consists of very low birth weight premature infants requiring ventilatory support
- 1:1 patient ratios
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
- 2 weekend shifts per month on a variable, as-needed basis with flexibility for occasional additional pickups
- Floating required within the hospital to Mother Baby unit to care for babies only
- No on-call requirements
- New state-of-the-art unit
- Uses EPIC charting system
- Active WA RN license or compact license required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of permanent staff NICU experience required
- At least 3 years of recent Level III NICU experience in a high-acuity setting required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- EPIC charting experience preferred
- Proficiency in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, UAC/UVC care, and neonatal medication administration
- Experience with ventilator management, high frequency ventilation, and nitric oxide therapy
- Experience with therapeutic hypothermia, phototherapy, and neonatal abstinence syndrome care
- Experience attending high-risk deliveries
- Provide critical care nursing to neonates ranging from under 24 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
- Work within a Magnet-designated teaching hospital environment
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
- Prior UW staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
- RTO should be kept to a minimum and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
