American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardio-Thoracic ICU/CVICU position requiring 2+ years of CVICU experience and prior travel assignment history.
Details- Work in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) within a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Patient ratio of 1:1
- Day shift (4x12 hours, ) or night shift (4x12 hours, ) schedules available
- Weekend shifts required unless otherwise posted
- Floating required within the hospital to other ICU units
- No floating to sister hospitals
- No on-call requirements
- Uses EPIC charting system
- Active WA RN license or compact license, or proof of pending license required
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Must complete Relias EKG telemetry compliance test
- Minimum 2 years of experience required, CVICU and open heart experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required, with at least 2 assignments beyond initial hospital preferred
- Experience with vents, IV starts, PA lines, and pacers required
- Proficiency with Swan-Ganz catheters and post-op cardiac care required
- Experience with Impella, IABP, and LVAD/RVAD required
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response
- Lung and heart transplant experience preferred
- Teaching and trauma hospital experience preferred
- Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular and cardiothoracic ICU patients, including those with mechanical circulatory support devices
- Scrubs of any color permitted
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
- RTO limited to 7 days in November/December, which may span one holiday, and must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- RTO cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- Prior UW staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
