American Traveler is hiring a Neonatal ICU RN for a Level III regional referral unit, requiring prior travel experience and a WA or compact RN license.
Details- 54-bed Level III NICU serving as a regional referral center for high-risk infants in a new, state-of-the-art unit
- Majority of patients are very low birth weight premature infants requiring ventilatory support
- 1:1 patient ratios
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
- Requires 2 weekend shifts per month, scheduled on an as-needed and variable basis
- Floating within the hospital to Mother Baby unit to care for babies only
- No floating to sister hospitals
- No call requirements
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent permanent staff NICU Level III experience required
- Prior travel experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience with high-acuity NICU skills including IV therapy, arterial and central line management, UAC/UVC care, and administration of blood products and emergency medications
- Experience with neonatal respiratory care including CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, high frequency ventilation, oscillators, and ventilator management
- Experience caring for neonates ranging from under 24 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
- Care for high-risk, very low birth weight, and premature infants requiring specialized respiratory and developmental support
- Unit is part of a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Scrubs may be any color; scrubs provided for OR personnel
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no mileage radius restriction
- RTO limited to 1 week maximum, with no RTO permitted during the first 2 weeks or orientation week
- Prior UW staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
