Travel RN - Med​/Surg - Bone Marrow Transplant​/BMT

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Bone Marrow Transplant unit requiring 2 years of inpatient oncology experience and a WA or compact RN license.

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient oncology experience required
• Experience with patient ratios of 1:4-5 required
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, and central line care
• Experience administering chemotherapy and managing related body fluid handling preferred
• Knowledge of oncologic emergencies including ATLS, anaphylaxis, sepsis, and spinal cord compression
• Experience caring for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma
• Skilled in symptom and pain management, including PCA pump and IV push narcotic administration
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required with no exceptions

• 30-bed inpatient unit specializing in blood and marrow transplantation care for adult oncology patients
• Unit may also place travelers on 8SA medical oncology, a similar population without BMT
• Patient ratios typically 1:3 to 1:4, with consideration for 1:5
• 3x12-hour shifts, variable days and nights
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required between like units
• No on-call requirements
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Provide complex inpatient care to adult BMT and oncology patients at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and coagulation factors while monitoring for adverse reactions
• Deliver psychosocial support including patient/family education, advanced directives, and hospice care coordination
• Scrubs may be any color
• Parking available for a daily fee
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no mile radius restriction
• Minimal RTO accommodated; RTO cannot be requested during the first two weeks or orientation
• Prior UW staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
