American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown Neuro RN for a night shift position requiring telemetry proficiency and at least 2 years of neuro/tele experience.
Requirements- Active WA RN license or compact license required
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- EKG compliance exam required with proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Strong neuro experience required for first-time travelers
- Skills required:
IV start, telemetry monitoring, and tracheostomy care - Level 1 trauma experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred but not required
- Stepdown Neuro unit in a Magnet, teaching, Level 1 Trauma hospital with 500 staffed beds
- Patient population includes neurosurgery, neurology, and epilepsy cases such as TBI, craniotomy, craniectomy, aneurysm clipping/coiling, spinal cord injury, stroke, and seizure
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30
- Every other weekend required with scheduling flexibility
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within scope; travelers float first
- Block scheduling not available
- Epic charting system used
- Blue scrub color required
- Provide cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia management for neuro/tele patients
- Care for patients with CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and TBI
- Required to work 2 of 3 major holidays with 1 holiday off permitted
- RTO limited to no more than 6 days, and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
- Prior UW/Harborview staff must have 18 months separation before returning as a travamper
- First-time travelers considered only if they have strong neuro experience
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
