American Traveler is hiring an RN for a high-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit requiring at least 1 year of high-risk L&D experience and WA or compact RN licensure.

• Labor & Delivery unit supporting high-risk, high-volume deliveries including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care/substance recovery clients
• Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Unit has 31 rooms/beds with average daily census of 15 and 500-600 deliveries per month
• 4 ORs on unit
• Uses Epic EMR
• Float required to Postpartum/Antepartum and sister facilities that do Mother/Baby care
• Schedule posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs
• Required to work every other weekend and holidays as needed

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery experience required
• High-risk L&D experience required
• Experience in fast-paced, high-acuity environments required
• Patient ratio experience of 1:1-2
• Skilled in amnioinfusion, assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, circulating for C-sections, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock management
• Experience administering Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate drips
• Experience providing newborn care including eyes, thighs, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments
• 2 references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required
• Must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem)

• Functions in the Baby Nurse role during delivery, providing continued newborn care until transfer to postpartum
• Required to circulate for deliveries and provide newborn care including eye care and newborn assessments
• Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius unless returning after required separation period
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must be outside the 50-mile radius
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities within the system
• Pre-approved time off requests are considered case-by-case and must be submitted upfront
